Schools in Maidguri, Borno state capital in the past few weeks have been targets of members of the Islamic Terror group, Boko Haram, a development which forced many wards and teachers alike to stay away from the classrooms.
However, the situation has assumed a frightening dimension as the Islamic sect sent out warnings to primary and secondary school teachers in the town to stop going to school or risk bomb attacks.
It was learnt that some of the teachers received the warning Thursday morning while preparing for the day’s academic programmes in their various schools.
The teachers in schools around Kasuwa Guza Road in Lamisila Ward, Maiduguri, were sternly warned by the group to stay away from school or risk attacks.
The teachers, who were said to have been accosted on their way to school, were said to have been shocked by the threat and quickly fled for their various homes.
